Tomorrow January 29th, Seminole High School will hold our traditional Basketball Homecoming Festivities. In order to celebrate our Homecoming Court, we will be posting their royalty profiles. Please join us in congratulating our 2021 Basketball Homecoming Court.

Next week is Basketball Homecoming Week for SHS! This year's Basketball Homecoming theme is 'Holidays!' and the SHS Student Council has put together the following spirit days! Students and staff are encouraged to dress up and dress out! We are looking forward to celebrating this year's Basketball Homecoming and showing our spirit!!


SHS Student Council is selling the 2021 Basketball Homecoming shirts at the link listed below. T-shirts are $15 for Adult S-XL, additional charges may apply for 2XL-4XL. All orders will be available for pickup after 1PM on the Thursday, January 28th at Seminole High School.

The 66 Conference Tournament is the week of January 18th in Seminole.

Afternoon classes for Gordon Cooper students have been canceled for today, December 15, 2020.

SHS will be holding classes virtually for the remainder of the week. Teachers will be making contact through the Google Classroom.
In-person semester tests and distance-learning semester tests will be posted virtually on Thursday, December 17th at 8:00 am.

Seminole High School Pom Squad will be competing in the state competition Saturday, December 12. This year, due to Covid, the competition is being held virtually. The team had to submit videos to the competition and they will be judged by the same panel of judges if held in person. The team is competing in the Pom category and the Mix category. Please send some positive words and thoughts their way while competing in the competition!

- JV Boys at 6:00pm
- Varsity Girls at 7:30pm
There will be no Varsity Boys or JV Girls games in Chandler next Tuesday.

Please note: Tonight’s basketball games in Wynnewood have a slight change. Due to COVID, Wynnewood’s girls JV and Varsity teams have been quarantined. Only the JV Boys and Varsity Boys teams will be playing this evening. Game times are 5:00pm & 6:30pm

Our last day 3 winner was Coach Brian McAlvain!
Coach “Mac” started his teaching career 24 years ago, working in both Prague and Tecumseh before returning to his alma mater, Seminole High School, 7 years ago. In addition to teaching subjects like World History and Military history, Coach Mac also coaches the Golf team and HS and JH Football. Coach Mac and his wife Sherri have 2 daughters, one of which has already graduated from SHS and the other a current senior at Seminole High School. In his spare time, Coach Mac enjoys golfing and fishing. Coach Mac’s favorite thing about Seminole is “everything” especially the students he teaches. This Chieftain Family is sure proud to have Coach McAlvain!

Mr. Taylor Wassam was another of our day 3 winners!
This is Taylor’s 4th year teaching Spanish at Seminole High School. Taylor loves working with the students and his co-workers. Taylor loves spending time with his girlfriend and their two beautiful daughters. In his spare time, Taylor enjoys nature; hunting and fishing especially. Most importantly, Mr. Wassam loves Jesus. Seminole High School is proud to have Mr. Wassam as a part of the Chieftain Family!
Mr. Wassam won a Chick-Fil-A gift card from Tinker Federal Credit Union and a Sonic card from Seminole Auto Sales!


Mr. Thomas Scott was another one of our day 3 Christmas gift staff punch out winners!
Thomas was born in Washington but grew up and graduated right here in Seminole. After graduating, Mr. Scott served 10 years in the US Army as an Ammunition Specialist achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Scott has been teaching for 17 years and 7 years ago he returned to his alma mater, Seminole High School. He has taught 6th and 7th grade math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry and Calculus. Mr. Scott and his wife Catrina have 4 children, Kris, Dusty, Paige and Izzy. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, working in the garden and taking care of his chickens. Mr. Scott also enjoys traveling and has been to 7 other countries and all but 4 states in the US. SHS is so proud to have such an awesome teacher like Mr. Scott in the Chieftain Family!

Another lucky day 3 winner was Mrs. Krystal Fitzgerald!
Krystal started her journey with Seminole Public Schools in 2011 at BLS working in a Pre-K classroom with Tina Kean for 2 years and then moving to Northwood where she would serve as the library assistant for the next 5 years. After meeting Mrs. Lori Roberts, Krista became a shadow assistant in the Special Education department where she works with Mrs. Roberts in the self-contained high school Special Education classroom. Since 2019 Mrs. Fitzgerald has been working full-time as a paraprofessional in that classroom where she feels she has found her place. Krystal enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children who are her whole life. Krystal is still waiting for her acceptance letter from Hogwarts, but until then enjoys reading, watching movies, and dancing to her favorite music. Seminole High School is proud to have Mrs. Krystal Fitzgerald as a part of our Chieftain Team!

Wednesday was day 3 of our Christmas gift staff punch out game and our first lucky winner was Mr. Bob Underwood!!
Bob has been in education for 30 years. Bob graduated from Seminole High School in 1982 and his first time teaching with Seminole was in 1996. He joined SHS again this year and is teaching in Alternative Education and also coaching football. Bob’s favorite thing about Seminole Schools is the people he works with. In Bob’s spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and 4 grandkids as well as watching and studying football and riding his motorcycle. SHS is proud to have Bob as a longtime member of the Chieftain Family!
Mr. Underwood won two Sonic Gift Cards from Carter Realty and Seminole Auto Sales.
