This morning our Senior class got up bright and early to celebrate their first last day together at Senior Sunrise. After grabbing a few donuts and writing their future self a letter (to be given back to them at Senior Sunset at the end of the year), this close-nit group wrote their dream for the year on a biodegradable balloon and sent it off as a group at 6:34am, right at sunrise. Please enjoy this short video of our Seniors enjoying their morning and the beginning of the final school days they will spend with their childhood friends.

SENIOR SUNRISE INFORMATION:
Senior students are invited to come to Seminole High School at 6:00am on the first day of school, this Friday, August 12th, to celebrate the beginning of the end of their high school career and watch the sunrise on their senior year together. Seniors can bring blankets or chairs to sit on and come in their pajamas, but if they do, they must change before attending school. Senior students are encouraged to bring a sealed letter to themselves that will be kept safe and given back to them at Senior Sunset at the end of the year. Seniors are also encouraged to DIY and wear a senior crown that they will be allowed to wear all day on the first day of school. Seniors will be releasing biodegradable balloons with their goals written on them right at sunrise. SHS Student Council will be providing breakfast for the Class of 2023.

Physicals will be held this afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Seminole Clinic. Students must bring a signed physical form to the clinic. This form is available on the school website under Athletics and Athletic Forms.
Seminole Public Schools has also partnered with Rank One Sports to assist in the completion of all forms that parents have to complete before a student can participate in extra-curricular activities. A link to this site is also available under the Athletics tab on the school website. The link is titled Rank One Sports. Parents will need a student ID number in order to complete the forms. Most students know this number in using it to access computer labs in school. The ID number is also available on the parent portal, or it can be found when picking up schedules next week.

After speaking with the National Weather Service, we have decided to transition our graduation ceremony to the high school gymnasium. The National Weather Service has advised that there will be an increased chance of thunderstorms and lightning during the timeframe of our ceremony and that conditions would not be safe for the outdoor ceremony.
Doors to the high school will be open at 6:45. All guests will enter through the main entry at the front of the school. We will not be issuing tickets to the ceremony. We respectfully ask that guests abide by a first come, first serve event and no seats are saved or marked off. Guests seating will be in the chair-back seating, bleachers, and overflow seating will be available in the commons/ cafeteria area of the gym.
We will have overflow parking available at the Haney Center on the campus of Seminole State College and we will be running shuttle-buses from SSC to the high school before and after graduation.
Graduates and SPS faculty and staff will be parking in the Southeast overflow parking lot.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
