CLEVELAND – Bryce Marshall nailed three treys and finished with a game-high 23 points Saturday as the Seminole Chieftains smashed the Cleveland Tigers, 86-63, in a Class 4A district contest.
Joining Marshall in double figures were Adam O’Daniel with 16 and Cepado Wilkins with 13.
“We defended really well, especially the first three quarters,” said Seminole boys’ head coacxh Josh Edenborough. “We never let them going and it was one of the most complete games we’ve played this season.
The Chieftains, who improved to 14-8 on the year, received eight points out of Seth Moppin, seven from Braxton Street and six each from Ethan Wurtz and Hunter Wurtz.
Moppin and Hunter Wurtz each drained a pair of shots from outside the arc. Street and Ethan Wurtz ended up with one trey apiece.
Seminole dominated early with a 21-6 first quarter and then outscored Cleveland by a 22-12 count in the second in creating a 43-18 halftime cushion. A 28-6 third quarter by the Chieftains made it an even larger rout.
Kyler Kauk and Shain Hamilton led the Tigers with eight points each.
Seminole will take on Bethany Thursday at 8 p.m. in a 4A regional at Victory Christian in Tulsa.
