    Seminole Chieftains Softball Program

    The Seminole Public Schools softball program is for girls in 7 - 12 grades. To participate in the Seminole Chieftains softball program, athletes must be eligible academically and have a current physical.

    The Seminole Chieftains softball program has two types of softball. The fall program is fastpitch and the spring program is slowpitch.

    There are three teams for the fastpitch program. These are varsity, junior varsity, and junior high grade teams. Slow Pitch only has a varsity-level team.

    Physicals are mandatory. In order to tryout or participate in any athletic activity for any school year, the athlete must turn a current physical into the coach at the time of tryouts. Only physicals dated after May 1 of the current school year will be accepted for tryouts and will be valid through the end of the following school year.

    Track & Field Program

    The Seminole Public Schools track & field program is for boys and girls in 7-12 grade.

    The high school program consists of 9-12 grades and the students will be enrolled in a seventh hour athletic class that meets at the high school track field during the school year. Practices will also be held after school. The track & field athletes will participate in varsity, junior varsity and 9th grade track meets and the competitive season for track starts in the second semester of the school year.

    The middle school program consists of 7th and 8th graders and the students will be enrolled in a first hour athletic class that meets at the high school track field during the school year.

    Physicals are mandatory. In order to participate in any athletic activity for any school year, the athlete must turn a current physical into the coach. Only physicals dated after May 1 of the current school year will be accepted for tryouts and will be valid through the end of the following school year.

    Tennis Program

    The Seminole Public Schools tennis program is for students 7-12 grade. To participate in the tennis program, students must be eligible with their grades.

    The tennis teams consist of a varsity, a junior varsity, and a junior high team for both the boys and girls programs.

    The competitive season for tennis starts in the second semester of the school year. The high school students will be enrolled in a seventh hour athletics class that meets at the high school during the school year. The junior high players are allowed to participate in up to 8 events during the tennis season.

    Physicals are mandatory. In order to tryout or participate in any athletic activity for any school year, the athlete must turn a current physical into the coach at the time of tryouts. Only physicals dated after May 1 of the current school year will be accepted for tryouts and will be valid through the end of the following school year.

    Baseball Program

    The Seminole Public Schools baseball program is for students that are in grades 7 - 12 grade. The competitive season for the baseball program runs March through May.

    The SPS baseball teams consist of a varsity and junior varsity.

    The junior high baseball team consist of 7 - 8 graders. 

    The junior varsity and varsity teams consist of 9 - 12 graders. These players will be enrolled in a seventh hour golf class.

    Physicals are mandatory. In order to tryout or participate in any athletic activity for any school year, the athlete must turn a current physical into the coach at the time of tryouts. Only physicals dated after May 1 of the current school year will be accepted for tryouts and will be valid through the end of the following school year

    Chieftains Football Program

    Seminole Public Schools football program is open to football athletes starting in seventh grade. To participate in the football program, the athlete needs to be academically eligible and in good standing with their school. There are NO tryouts to participate in the football program.

    For high school students, 9-12 grade, their seventh hour class will be their football class. Practice will start during this class and will finish on average by 5:30 p.m. each day of the school week.

    Football practices will start in August before the beginning of start of school. These practices will be held at the high school stadium.

    For seventh & eighth grade students, practices will be their first hour class.

    There are a total of five teams (a 7th grade team, a 8th grade team, a 9th grade team, a junior varsity team, and a varsity team).

    Physicals are mandatory to participate in any athletic activity for the school year. The athlete must turn in a current physical to the coach at the beginning of the football season. Only physicals dated after May 1 of the current school year will be accepted and will be valid through the end of the following school year.
